Gas Problem Persists during Sehri, Iftar
HYDERABAD:
Piped gas supply stopped throughout multiple Hyderabad neighborhoods as people prepared Sehri and Iftar food on the beginning of the month of Ramazan. People suffered to make Sehri and Iftar meals because gas pressure on their supply lines remained very weak. Piped gas remained unavailable throughout Latifabad, Qasimabad, Site, Tando Jam, Tando Fazal and other districts despite Sehri preparation time. People who lived in urban areas bought Sehri essentials from markets at high prices whereas others in rural areas cooked their meal using cylinders and wood since gas pressure remained extremely low.
The gas pressure reduced dramatically at the time of Iftar. During the early part of afternoon prayers ordinary pressure levels stayed normal until a major drop occurred on the first breaking-fast moment resulting in significant preparation obstacles.
Urban citizens explain that fruit costs too much so they make dinner and purchase dates for fasting but can no longer afford these supplies because of Sui Gas Company issues.
Christians from Sui Gas Company say lowered consumption levels could reduce available pressure in the network. The company maintains regular gas supply to its customers throughout Sehr and Iftar sessions.
