PIA announces pre-Hajj operation for 2025

PIA Pakistan International Airlines revealed its 2025 Hajj flight strategy for Karachi as the service period runs between April 29 and June 1. The national carrier operates 280 specific flights to Saudi Arabia which will provide journey services for more than 56,000 Pakistani pilgrims.

The Hajj Operations by PIA will consist of numerous elements detailed below.

Flight Schedule & Capacity

Pre-Hajj Phase (April 29 – June 1):

20,000 pilgrims under the government scheme.

36,000 pilgrims under the private scheme.

Aircraft: Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 for optimal comfort.

Post-Hajj Phase (June 12 – July 10):

The airline offers traveling services for pilgrims between Saudi Arabia and their home country after the Hajj ceremony.

Operational Preparedness

PIA conducts continuous integrated management activities to provide punctual flights with maximum safety for their passengers.

The facilities offered to pilgrims now include simplified check-in processes in addition to improved baggage handling systems.

Controversy Over Private Hajj Quota

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif initiated an inquiry that extends over three days to examine why Pakistan lost thousands of applicants due to reduced private Hajj slots.

The three-member investigative panel seeks to understand the causes of the Ministry of Religious Affairs quota failure to procure Saudi Arabian quota although it met the necessary requirements.

The decision has been made during a time when many people strongly disapprove of restricted private scheme availability.

Why It Matters

PIA executes its large-scale operation as a pivotal logistical achievement because it enables millions of people to perform Hajj which stands as a fundamental obligation of faith.

The public outcry about inadequate planning of pilgrimages led to government intervention because of the accountability crisis.
