Full Pink Moon to Light Up Karachi’s Sky This Sunday

The first moon of the year which heralds the arrival of spring, the Pink Moon will peak on April 12, but Pakistan residents may have the best chance to spot it on the night of April 13, 2025. May’s beautiful lunar event is the first full moon of the spring season and an event of many meanings to cultures, calendars and star gazers alike.

🌸 A Rose Moon or Pink Moon is known for blooming in the east wood, hence the name!

Contrary to its name, the Pink Moon will not be shown in pink color. The name is related to Native American and European traditions in which each full moon was identified by the situation of the season at the moment. The April full moon was named after the moss pink or wild ground phlox, one of North America’s earliest spring blooming flowers. This is a poetic reminder that spring has begun.

Though we don’t see these flowers exactly in Pakistan, there is a beauty in renewal, when you pass by the garden or by the trees and they’re in bloom during this season.
