China’s Donkey Industry Set to Establish Farms in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:

Donkey farming operations show strong interest from China to initiate ventures in Pakistan because their officials judge that the nation provides excellent breeding conditions combined with promising export opportunities.

The Pakistan-Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain received Chinese officials Zhao Fei—Vice President of the Donkey Industry Branch—during talks in Islamabad regarding the project partnership.

Minister Hussain received the delegation by emphasizing China-Pakistan cooperative initiatives before assuring the farms’ approval would be granted upon completion of necessary legal standards.

The agreement would contain provisions to maintain the genetic purity and sustainable numbers of Pakistan’s indigenous donkeys according to his stated clarification.

Gwadar Identified as Key Location for Donkey Export Hub

Construction and development of contemporary farms will be established inside the Gwadar Export Processing Zone within this proposed initiative. Modern facilities at these locations would contain processing areas for donkeys and export logistics that enable donkey meat transfers through Gwadar Port.

The minister emphasized that this project establishes opportunities for export development and enhances trade connections between Pakistan and China while creating job prospects for local labor.

Bohai Ring donkey meat exports align with China’s rising market need for donkey-based products that includes traditional ejiao gelatin extracted from donkey hide for medical and skincare uses.
