China to train two Pakistani astronauts

ISLAMABAD:

China announces it will select, train two Pakistani astronauts for future space missions. On Wednesday, China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) announced the news.

A future mission to China’s space station will have a payload specialist one of the selected astronauts. During time spent in orbit, this role will include carrying out scientific experiments designed by Pakistan as well as regular crew duties.

This mission is conducted collaboratively, CMSA spokesperson Lin Xiqiang told the media at Jiuquan, Gansu province, China during a press briefing. The trained astronauts will play a role of fostering scientific collaboration between the two countries in this important milestone of Pakistan’s space achievements.
