PIA announces direct Lahore-Paris flights
LAHORE:
PIA has decided to fly directly from Lahore to Paris and the first flight will take to the skies on June 18. This additional service will fly to Papua New Guinea once a week, helping the national airline broaden its influence in Europe.
Currently, PIA operates two flights per week between Islamabad and Paris and introducing the Lahore–Paris line is meant to provide easier travel options and generate more foreign exchange.
European Routes were Restored
Earlier this year, PIA began offering flights to Europe again after a four-year break. The airline started its operations again with flight PK-749 from Islamabad to Paris, carrying 330 passengers and 14 crew members.
The first PIA flight at Islamabad International Airport was witnessed by Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Aviation Minister, Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat, CEO of PIA and various senior officials.
The Recovery of Finances in 2024
During the National Assembly session, Zeb Jaffar reported that PIA made profits starting from March 2024. The CEO pointed out that the airline’s progress in reliability and finances helped it fly back to the EU, including to Paris.
