The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has issued a new notification regarding the working hours of schools in Islamabad for the holy month of Ramadan in the year 2025. In observance of Ramadan, the forecast for the first day of the holy month implies that a new schedule will be adopted and, like always, schools will return to the regular timetable once Ramadan comes to an end. Revised Timings for Schools in Islamabad Double-shift schools: Morning shift: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (Monday to Friday) Evening shift: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm Single-shift schools: 8:00 am – 12: pm These changes are expected to honor the active academic efforts that staff members and students engage in during fasting. Ramadan Moon Sighting: Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to Meet Today The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet today (Friday) with the venue being Peshawar, in order to officially decide the commencement of Ramadan. The meeting is scheduled to be presided by the committee’s chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, from 6:30 pm after the Asr prayer. As claimed by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), there is not much chance of Ramadan moon being sighted today, mainly due to clouds prevailing within the sky of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa especially in Peshawar. Zonal committees will also be held in other towns citywise to evaluate the sighting of the moon reports together with certain appointed delegates of the various schools of jurisprudence who made up the central gathering.
Forecast of Weather Conditions Along With Chances for Moon Sighting
The sighting possibilities of the moon have been make difficult in Peshawar and surrounding regions during the next 24 hours due to the presence of clouds which are likely to stay for longer along with the presence of the sun. Such conditions makes the chances of clearly sighting the moon quite difficult.
A relaying of when Ramadan 2025 will begin will follow the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting that is set to take place tonight.
